SCADA International, the leading software and control systems provider to the renewable energy sector, is embarking on yet a significant strategic move with the acquisition of Quantec Systems GmbH. This expansion marks a pivotal step in SCADA International’s ambitious growth, adding 10,000 renewable assets and boosting the total installed capacity to an impressive 44 GW.
SILKEBORG, DENMARK — April 11, 2024 — SCADA International continues its expansion by acquiring Quantec Systems GmbH. Quantec, based in Hannover, Germany, was founded in 2017 as a software-focused spinout of its predecessor company. Since then, Quantec has established itself as a market leader serving many customers such as renewable asset owners & operators, ISPs, and OEMs, and employs a team of renewable energy experts and highly specialized software developers.Â
Quantec, renowned for its proprietary software solution ClavisTM, provides a hardware-agnostic interface that enables real-time monitoring of distributed renewable energy assets, currently exceeding 10,000 in Germany and other markets. This acquisition is a testament to SCADA International’s commitment to enhancing the strategic focus and strengthening the portfolio of software and digital services, all with the aim of creating more value for customers worldwide. Â
Quantec is set to become a significant pillar within the SCADA International group and portfolio. The ambition is to leverage this acquisition to generate significant synergies through technology integration, accelerate the technology roadmap, and provide end-to-end offerings to SCADA International’s customers.Â
“There is no doubt that our main customers in the industry expect us to deliver solutions across the entire value chain. By bringing Quantec into the SCADA International group, we can bring a broader and more in-depth set of capabilities and knowledge to our customers and, to a greater extent, support customers in the green energy transition,” says Thomas Bagger, CEO at SCADA International, and he continues:Â
“Especially regarding the use of hardware-agnostic solutions, Quantec Systems has some unique competencies and deep domain knowledge that we together can transform into scalable services, creating more value for our customers and the industry in a more digital and integrated world. I am hugely looking forward to this partnership with the team at Quantec Systems and to having them on board for this exciting new journey.”Â
There is also excitement to be found at Quantec, where CEO and founder Vincent Kessler says it is a perfect match. For Vincent Kessler, the goal is that Quantec, through this acquisition, can scale into new markets in line with the development and growing needs of the customers while maintaining the expertise upon which their success is built:Â
“It was time to seek a partner capable of elevating our expertise and capabilities while accommodating our innovative mindset and aspirations. We discovered such a partner in SCADA International, where we together can cement our ambitions to be a collaborative ally and a knowledge hub within the industry.”
The transaction is expected to be completed during the Spring of 2024 upon receiving customary regulatory approvals.Â
